When you talk to your friends, do you use the correct form:
"If it weren't raining ...."
Or you just say "If it wasn't raining" ?
I ask because I wanna make sure that the correct form doesn't give me away as a student of the language, although I know I'll always be corrected if I say the second one even if you guys do too..

Diría 'if it wasn't raining' pero usaría 'weren't' en una frase como ... 'if it weren't for that, I would do it'.

I think they both sound natural. I don't you'll sound like a learner just because you say "weren't".
