Hoy estoy leyendo algo y encontré esta palabra la que en inglés se traduce como 'decimate'. Es decir 'diez' = 'deci' o 'ten'. Esto me parecía un poco raro y por eso busqué la palabra en el diccionario y aquí está. Intersante, pues, por lo menos para mi.
Usage Note: Decimate originally referred to the killing of every tenth person, a punishment used in the Roman army for mutinous legions. Today this meaning is commonly extended to include the killing of any large proportion of a group.
