I know, nothing to do with each other, but, as Marlene said the word "thought" out of context, I immediately heard the word "fat". I didn't risk it because they only thing that made me doubt was the sound of the A in fat, which is more nasal and it wasn't in this case.
Then when she put it in a sentence "Those are my thoughts anyway" I caught it without problems, which means that my annoying theory that I understand words by context not by sound is still true.
Any thoughts about this? Do you know any non-native speaker who can actually understand a word in English out of context? I don't know what else to try to achieve this.....

No he sometido la pregunta a votación para encontrar alquien que no hable ingles nativemente si puede entender unas palabras así o no. Pero te digo (otra vez) que no es tan importante poder hacerlo.
