So I found this "job" as a Spanish interpreter over the phone for a company based in LA. They are paying 5.50 dollars per hour which sucks, but it's part time and if nothing else, it'll give me the experience I need, and help me lose the fear of facing such stressing situations.
I wonder how much is a real interpreter earning? I read it's 40.000 dollars per year, which is around 3.000 per month..... what do you think?

I think $5.50 per hour is low but if it's worked in with other things you're doing, then $5.50 per hour is $5.50 per hour more than you had before. I don't know what a "real" interpreter would earn but I would say $40k would be in the ballpark.
The question is what is a "real" interpreter?
